Hart responds to NRA endorsement of Altmire

Former Congresswomen Melissa Hart has issued the following statement on the endorsement of the NRA for her opponent Congressman Jason Altmire.

“The Washington, D.C. NRA group has a policy of giving endorsement preference to incumbents if they have not voted against NRA issues.  Unfortunately, since this Congress hasn’t done much work, there have not been many votes for the NRA to get a clear picture of the incumbent’s views.  Since Altmire’s Speaker Pelosi controls the agenda in the House, she ensured that pro-second amendment legislation never sees the light of day.

“It is the support of the sportsmen here in the 4th Congressional district that is most important to me.  The sportsmen and gun club members here have supported me for many years because they know my record of being a strong and constant leader on protecting Second Amendment rights.  There are many who are active in my campaign at the grassroots level now because they know I will continue to be a leader for them should I return to Washington.  I anticipate gaining the official endorsement from leaders and groups in the sportsmen community here in the near future.”

NRA/Hart

Melissa never was a leader and she just followed failed Senator Santorum around like a puppy dog. She needs help but she certainly does not need to be in Congress EVER again.
