After yesterday's allegations by Mike Manzo that Majority Leader Bill DeWeese know about the illegal Bonusgate payments I decided to ask a few Republicans and Democrats about what they thought of the situation. Most specifically, why would Manzo lie?
The only answer I received was "to cut a deal for himself or his wife Rachel." But the problem with that is most observers believe Manzo had no real motivation because lying about DeWeese would just get him in deeper trouble and likly to end up with perjury charges and a stiffer sentence.
On another front, DeWeese is warning Republicans this morning that what happened yesterday is not good news for the GOP leadership. DeWeese is guarenteeing that Republicans will sing like canaries as their lawyers will point to DeWeese throwing Manzo under the bus as all the motivation they need to talk now, and talk loud.

Could it be Manzo found religion?
Or could it be that Manzo already knows that DeWeese is guilty and that DeWeese is likely to try to avoid guilt by laying all the blame on Manzo?
Manzo eventually will be seen as a lesser evil if DeWeese goes down and Manzo may end up a hero?
