Regola likely to be replaced on ballot (Updated)

It appears Sen. Bob Regola will not be on the ballot afterall come November. The Senator beat criminal charges last month in court, but will likely be replaced by Westmoreland activist and County Commisioner Kim Ward on the November ballot.

While this will never be the official reason, sources say Regola's polling numbers were to low to overcome despite his acquittal.

CapitolWire is now confirming our earlier story and says Regola is likely to step down Monday.

So unlike DeWeese...

Funny how Regola will step down for good of Senate R caucus but Deweese hangs on like the fool we all see him for now. Would be incredibly surprised if DeWeese's poll is any better than Regola's 15 point deficit. The House Ds better reorganize ASAP and get rid of the joker.

Regola's deficit has to be

Regola's deficit has to be well beyond the 15 points noted. He has the biggest ego in Westmoreland County and would never even consider giving up at only 15 points. The guy is a class "A" jerk. I can't wait to hear the official word that he bowed out. It couldn't happen to a more deserving man. The only better day will be when the Farrell family's civil suit tells what really happend that night with his gun.

Another Democrat whiner!

Here we go again another comment by a gutless person not willing to show their name. Senator Regola is the best State Senator to serve the residents of Westmoreland County. Kukovich who? Never did anything for the residents of the county except to whine all the time and use the office for nothing but to rally for Democratic causes! Senator Regola has helped many communities with infrastructure projects and the best constituent services that he provides. If there is a civil trial, I can’t wait to hear for the real truth to come out. Everyone knows the trial was a witch hunt. It was a payback for Regola beating Kukovich!

Well Chuck at least someone

Well Chuck at least someone is defending him. He ran the dirtiest campaign in the history of Westmoreland County spreading blatant lies about Kukovich. I'm no Kukovich fan either, but Regola is a slimeball. He's getting exactly what he deserves. Actually he's not.... if he was a moral, upright, honest guy as he claims he would have made his son tell the police what he knew and not let him hide behind the 5th amendment. Tell me how his kid gets convicted of having the gun and Regola doesn't? It's a joke. No matter what your opinion on his acquittal is, at best he's an imbecile for leaving a loaded, unlocked weapon in his home when no one but young kids were to be there. Oh well after Monday I won't have to hear from him again.

gutless whiners

VERY well put Chuck. The previous entry IS, in typical Democrat style, gutless for not putting his or her name. Why don't all you whiners get over it????? SENATOR Regola DID beat your Kukovich. Deal with it. He told lies about Kukovitch? Then why didn't Kukovitch do anything about it? Because it was all true. Your ignorance is really showing in your post. Chuck, saying that the trial was a witch hunt is putting it mildly. As you very well know, they were out to hang our senator from the very beginning. The Dems just can't handle good, honest people.

I am a registered

I am a registered independent leaning republican in Westmoreland. This is exactly why I will not register as a republican in this county. The Westmoreland GOP feel neither they nor anyone in their own party is responsible for anything. This is a very easy question to answer if the Farrell boy was God forbid your son or grandson and this tragedy happend, you would not be of the same "witchhunt" opinion. He left a loaded, unlocked weapon in his home when he wasn't even going to be there and he knew young kids were. I am a gun owner and NRA member and he is dead wrong. The NRA and gun owners in general take a bad rap for irresponsible gun owners like Bob Regola. Just because he may have granted your community a few WAM dollars doesn't make him a hero or a martyr. His actions lead to this young boy's tragic death and there is no denying that. Again if it was your kid you'd want him held responsible, and please don't argue otherwise and make yourselves look foolish.
