Instead of providing documentation, Goode provides a check

Philadelphia Councilman Wilson Goode Jr. had been asked by City Controller Alan Butkovitz to provide any documentation in to authenticate aide Latrice Bryant's work hours. Bryant had been accused by Fox29 news of running personal errands while on city time. Instead of providing any documentation Goode provided Butkovitz a check for $863.35 for the time in question. While this check takes care of the time in question while Fox29 was tracking Bryant, Butkovitz said he has no power to audit previous records from Goode.

Nutter stays above the Goode fray

In a year without local elections, all the talk in Philadelphia City Hall is focused on the controversey over Councilman Wilson Goode Jr. and his embattled aide Latrice Bryant.

Ever since Bryant accused a Fox29 reporter who exposed her inaccurate timesheets of being a racist, Goode has been under fire for his response to the situation.

But count Mayor Michael Nutter out of this conversation.

At a news conference yesterday where he unveiled appointments to his ethics and campaign finance reform task force, Nutter declined to enter the fray of this fall's City Council drama, The Inquirer reports.

"I don't believe I can do anything about a staff member in another branch of government," Nutter said."
