Cumberland County Republican Chairman Vic Stablie is one of the few who has done a good job registering Republican voters which puts him as a winner this week. The legislative staff got some news that is not going to make them happy.  Who else made this week's Winners & Losers?

Still in charge: Cumberland County GOP Chairman Vic Stabile has sparred with Commissioner Gary Eichelberger much of the past 18 months.MECHANICSBURG -- The Cumberland County GOP shocked many observers 18 months ago when it did not not endorse incumbent Republican Commissioner Gary Eichelberger for re-election.

The decision did not work out well -- Eichelberger defeated endorsed challenger Karen Gunnison in the primary, winning re-election by a landslide, and claimed chairmanship of the board of commissioners, the symbolic head of county. And he bashed the county committee as corrupt and out-of-touch the entire time.

"The last two years ... I'll take the liberty of calling them 'challenging,'" county GOP Chairman Vic Stabile, a frequent opponent of Eichelberger, told the committee last week at its reorganization meeting.
