On the final day before the Primary, 10th Congressional district candidates Chris Hackett (R-Shavertown) and Dan Meuser (R-Harvey’s Lake) canvassed across the district with their final push to get their message out and encourage residents to vote.
Here is a statement from Hackett:
We’re running an aggressive effort to turnout our voters. As I’ve traveled the district I have been humbled by the outpouring of support I’ve received from folks who want to see real leadership in Washington, DC. I look forward to the opportunity to take our message of conservative leadership to Washington.
This is a statement from Meuser:
All across the district, our supporters have been knocking on doors, putting up signs, making phone calls, and helping to turn out the vote for Election Day. I think our supporters are proud of the campaign we have run and are working hard to make sure we turn our voters out.
Both candidates will compete in tomorrow’s primary and likely challenge incumbent freshmen Rep. Chris Carney (D-Dimock Township), who is unopposed, in November.
The two Republican candidates are both businessmen from Luzerne County. Hackett is a staffing company president and Meuser is a manufacturing executive.
