Presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain is coming to York next week, according to an e-mail his campaign sent out Wednesday. Frank A. Nanticoke council approves written agreements with two employees
NANTICOKE – City council unanimously approved employment agreements for two employees during the Wednesday night meeting.

New program to help residents finish college degrees
Community College of Philadelphia and Mayor Nutter yesterday announced a plan to pick up the tab for tuition, fees, and some of the cost of textbooks for Philadelphia residents who have completed 30 or more credit hours toward an associate degree and who have been out of school for at least two years. WHAT WAS more unusual - Mayor Nutter's angry use of off-color remarks or 6ABC's decision to air them on the 11 p.m. newscast?

Boehner to fundraise for Hackett
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) is headed to northeast Pennsylvania this weekend to fundraise for Republican U.S. House candidate Chris Hackett.

Municipal judge faces misconduct charges from stay-away order
Municipal Judge James DeLeon is facing misconduct charges for allegedly issuing an improper "stay away order" to assist an acquaintance.

The Hempfield couple say the emotional wounds they suffered on Dec. 21, 1988, will remain open forever.

Regola seeks to expunge record in gun case

Fayette postpones purging 25,000 voters
A Fayette County voter purge that was to begin earlier this week has been postponed, the director of the election bureau said Thursday.

Allegheny County group forms to retain drink tax
A group calling itself Citizens Against Raising Taxes on Property has formed to campaign to keep Allegheny County's 10 percent drink tax.
