Dallas, PA – As Congress continues its consideration of the Farm Bill, Republican congressional candidate Chris Hackett is denouncing the bill for its massive amount of wasteful spending and it’s subsidies to large corporate farming interests at the expense of family farmers in Pennsylvania.
Included in the Farm Bill are these outrageous taxpayer rip-offs:
Once again, incumbent Democrat Congressman Chris Carney is playing the Washington insiders’ game and siding with the special interests over taxpayers in our district.
Today, Carney will have a chance to rectify those mistakes by voting against final passage of the bill and sending it back to strip out the corporate welfare.
“Family farmers deserve better than this bill. I will work in Congress to end the corporate hand outs and make sure family farmers get what they deserve,” said Hackett. “It’s clear to everyone except the Washington politicians that the system is broken, and this farm bill is a prime example of what needs fixing,” Hackett continued.
“Chris Carney is again trying to fool Pennsylvanians, telling us he supports family farmers then going to Washington and voting for the big corporations and more wasteful spending. While liberal Chris Carney is voting for subsidies for millionaire race horse owners, Chris Hackett will be supporting our family farmers back home,” said campaign spokesman Mark Harris.
