Dallas, PA – Today, National Right to Life PAC, the nation’s leading pro-life political organization, endorsed Chris Hackett’s campaign for Congress recognizing his “commitment to renewing the culture of life.”
In a letter to Hackett, NRLC PAC wrote, “The countless Americans who respect the sanctity of innocent human life appreciate your willingness to serve. This willingness to take up the fight for life in the U.S. Congress makes us proud to endorse you.” The letter is attached.
“I am deeply honored by this endorsement. I look forward to working in Congress to reduce the tragedy of abortion, and to make more abundant the opportunities for adoption,” said Chris Hackett. Hackett and his wife Ramah are adoptive parents themselves.
In stark contrast to Chris Hackett’s position, incumbent Democratic Congressman Chris Carney has a strongly liberal record on abortion. In 2007, Carney received a 100% rating from NARAL, the nation’s largest abortion rights organization. Carney voted twice to continue funding Planned Parenthood (Roll Call 684, 7/19/2007, Roll Call 1171, 12/17/2007), the nation’s largest abortion provider. Carney also voted to send taxpayer dollars overseas to fund abortion (Roll Call 534, 6/21/2007)
“Like his liberal votes on taxes, wasteful earmark spending, and border security, Chris Carney has repeatedly tried to hide the truth about his liberal voting record on abortion from his constituents. However, Carney couldn’t hide his voting record from pro-life organizations such as National Right to Life, and he won’t be able to hide it during this campaign,” said Hackett campaign spokesman Mark Harris.
