DeFrancisco Endorsed by Norwood Mayor George McCloskey and Norwood Borough Council Members

 

Before joining local residents to watch Democratic Presidential Nominee, Barack Obama give his Acceptance Speech, John DeFrancisco, Candidate for State Representative (PA- 162) was endorsed Thursday by Norwood Mayor George McCloskey and members of the Norwood Borough Council in front of the Arch of Norwood on Chester Pike.

 

John DeFrancisco served on Norwood Borough Council for 17 years, including three years as President. During his service to Norwood Borough, he was a stalwart advocate for quality of life issues, including the hiring of more police and raising funds for the 4th of July parade.

 

Those in attendance at the endorsement event included, Mayor George McCloskey,              Council Pres. Joe Butler, Councilperson Michele Steuber, Councilperson John Haugher, and Former Councilperson Judy Williams.

 

"John and I served many years together in Norwood. John was a true public servent who represented the needs of the community," said Mayor McCloskey, "As our State Representative, he'll do an excellent job for the entire district."

 

"I'm honored to have the support of my friends in Norwood with whom I served so proudly." said a grateful John DeFrancisco, "My 17 years of experience in local government help me understand the importance of balanced, fair representation in Harrisburg that puts the needs of people before politics."
