After attacking, Gleason says McCain's attacks aren't working

State GOP chair Bob Gleason says the increasingly aggressive tactics of John McCain's campaign aren't working in Pennsylvania, specifically with southeastern voters.

"They’re not as susceptible to attack ads,” Gleason told The New York Times. “I worry about the southeast. [Barack] Obama is making inroads.”

It's an interesting critique coming from Gleason, who has himself been mimicking the McCain campaign's increasingly negative tone. It was less than a week ago that Gleason, picking up on McCain's attacks on Obama's association with 1960s radical Bill Ayers, released a statement calling Obama "a terrorist's best friend"--a charge that thoroughly distorts the truth by any measure.

Blac; or white

i read a speech Obama gave about him and his wife. How they were black and he was raised by white people and how his wifes family were slaves. You know most of our familys black or white came here from some where else. my family came over in the 1800's with 25 dollars to their name with 18 kids .when there was not much here. they fought for what they got and worked hard. What gives Obamas family anything over my family.because they were Black? Bull everyone who came over here had a bad time and it was hard. The Indians lost the most. I think Obama needs to get over him being black and try and be an American.

Well Said MaryJane

Michelle Obama said she is proud to be an American at least in the past year or so.

So what!

Obama is a guy who 3 years ago was paying off a mortgage and student loans. He made his money by earning it. So you decide whether his color makes him less like you than a guy who was born w/ a silver spoon in his mouth who's married to a woman who has a private plane.

Gullible

Of course color is an issue. Really take a look at Obama. It's amazing that so many people are willing to vote for someone they know nothing about. Nothing. His entire campaign has been the same rhetoric, over and over and over again. Neither the public nor the media is paying attention to how shallow he is, nor is anyone even interested in his past, his accomplishments, or where he stands. It's simply amazing.

Just look at the campaign ads. Politicians love to brag about themselves. Why haven't you seen anything about all the all the great things Obama's done for Chicago? Why don't you see anybody from Chicago endorsing him? Why? Because he hasn't done anything.

As a black man, I find it insulting. I would love to see the first black president, but electing this fraud goes against everything we've fought for. I thought the days of token minorities was over, but apparently not. It's disgusting.

To everyone here, knock off the racist crap. The reason I don't support democrats is because they always throw it out there to sucker minorities into supporting them. I for one am not that gullible. Get this straight: the Republican party was founded by Abraham Lincoln, who abolished slavery. Did you know Martin Luther King was republican? Probably not. Lyndon Johnson, a democrat, couldn't have passed the civil rights bill in 1968 without the help of the republicans. His own party would not support it.

Here is more for those who want to know the truth. Read it and tell as many as you can. Stop allowing yourselves to be the pawns of politicians. You owe that to yourself.

McCain's qualifications

The 2000 McCain was someone whom even democrats could respect, but he has sold out to the far right of the Republican party. (If you are a Republican because Lincoln was and MLK might have been back when the democratic party was the party of southern white supremists, you need to take a good look at the Republican performance over the last 8 years).

If how they have run their presidential campaigns is any indication as to how McCain or Obama will govern, Obama has my vote. His campaign has been coherent and disciplined. I supported Hillary Clinton in the primary, but the democrats made their own rules and Obama won. I have no problem supporting him.
