GOP trying to get Barr off Pa. ballot

Concerned that he could pull votes from U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a leading state Republican is trying to have Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr removed from the ballot in Pennsylvania, The Associated Press reports.

Barr, a former Republican Congressman, is expected by some to hurt McCain in the general election by drawing away disenchanted conservative voters, especially in Barr's home state of Georgia.

In a petition filed in Commonwealth Court Monday, the Cumberland County GOP chairman alleged that the Libertarians misled people who signed their ballot petitions by listing Rochelle Etzel of Clarion County as the presidential candidate even after the national party picked Barr at its convention in May.

The Libertarian Party formally substituted Barr's name on the Pennsylvania ballot just last week, The AP reports.

Typical ....

Republican underhanded mean spirited anti-democracy action. One more reason McCain and his Gang of thugs along with other republicans need to be beaten and beaten badly. I hope enough voters have learned to despise this type of politics.

If Barr is off the ballot

If Barr is off the ballot then the disgruntled voters will either not vote or vote for Nader or Baldwin.

Barr Should Remain on Ballot

Barr should remain on the ballot. The Republicans and Democrats haven’t even had their conventions yet to formally choose their candidate. Should they also be taken off the ballot?

How the plot thickens

The GOP isnt stupid; they know the Ron Paul got 129,000 votes in PA and that those voters wont vote for McCain, so hes going to try to take options off the table. Well Senator, that may work in Mao's China or Stalin's Russia, but here in the USA, it wont cut it !!!1
