Dent responds to Bennett debate challenge

Shortly after PolitickerPa.com reported Democrat Sam Bennett's debate challenge to U.S. Rep. Charles Dent (R-Allentown), the Dent campaign issued a response.

Noting that her challenge came the same day that Democrats were blocking Republican attempts to vote on energy legislation, the campaign tried to turn the challenge on Democratic policy as a whole.

"The real debate on this issue must happen right now in Congress," Dent said in a statement. "[Bennet should issue a debate challenge to Congressional [Democratic] leaders like Nancy Pelsi and Harry Reid..."

Energy Debate

I commend Charlie Dent for staying late on Friday after Nancy Pelosi and the Dems decided to go on a 5 week vacation with out having a vote on domestic drilling. Bennett seems like a nice enough person, but she is just on the wrong side of the issues, especially on domestic drilling. I'd like to know what Bennett would do if she was in Congress? Would she pledge to support domestic drilling? Would she vow to vote against Nancy Pelosi for Speaker if she was a member of congress?
