Group tries to place Keyes on ballot

A group of Pennsylvania residents concerned about U.S. Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) stance on abortion is trying to put former GOP presidential candidate Alan Keyes on the ballot.

The Waymart-based Pennsylvania chapter of Keyes For President needs a little fewer than 25,000 signatures to make him the presidential candidate for the American Independent Party, according to Paul Curtis, the organization's leader. It has worked since mid-May to reach the goal, although it had to jump through parliamentary hoops for a month before it could actually begin collecting signatures.

Now Paul said group members are working feverishly to meet the Aug. 1 deadline as part of nationwide effort on behalf of Keyes, going door-to-door and sending e-mails to drum up support.

"The significant thing is we ask people to spend a few minutes and learn the facts," he said.

Their efforts stem from dissatisfaction with McCain's abortion stance and what Paul said was the gross mistreatment of Keyes by the GOP and mass media.

Although McCain has a solid pro-life reputation, Paul said he doubts his commitment to overturn Roe v. Wade based on comments the presumptive Republican nominee has made in the past.

"How can he now claim to be a pro-life candidate?" Paul said.

An email distributed by the group paints McCain as liberal.

"Whose side is Senator McCain really on?" the e-mail said. "Socialist George Soros', Teddy Kennedy's, Mexico's, or yours?"

Despite their commitment, Paul acknowledged earning enough signatures will be difficult.

"It's challenging," he said. "Many people are so conditioned to get the bulk of their information via the mass media."

Let's get Keyes on the ballot ...

Paul Curtis is right. John McCain is not good enough for Conservatives and neither McCain nor Obama are good enough for America.

Way to go Paul Curtis ... let's get Alan Keyes on the ballot.

Alan Keyes is a perpetual

Alan Keyes is a perpetual (Stassen) candidate who does not even know how to show his daughter unconditional love. He always runs for office and always fails. His support has dwindled to a fraction of one percent yet his silly band of (few) supporters still expect "big things". Check out the remaining racist radicals at renewamerica.us/bb before going to his new site.
He has almost no ballot access and no funds.

Most Honest Candidate Ever

Kerwin, that website is a rehash of total lies, as anyone who takes the time to investigate the truth will find out.

Those who know Alan Keyes say that he is one of the most honest, humble, giving and patriotic persons they know.

Think about it. There are many powerful, unChristian, ruthless big shots who have a lot to lose if such a courageous man gets into office and restores the government to the people. You have to recognize where the lies come from.

Take a look at this:

Look Katrinka, you are one

Look Katrinka, you are one of his sheep. Facts are facts. He pulls cash from his grassroot, small people campaign donations; he left a huge debt from his previous campaigns; he DID NOT give his daughter unconditional love; his support has dwindled to near zero. He got many fewer votes then Guiliani even after Guiliani dropped out of the race. He did not keep his promise to the CP and he is the most rude career politician out there. All facts. And THAT is why people laugh at him and never will take him seriously. He wants to ram his version of Christianity into the government. NO WAY, it is NOT going to happen.

Will be reversed

Oh, that CA AIP breakaway faction will be restored to its rightful administration after the Secretary of States opinion is reversed after judicial review. There already has been much progress on that behind the scenes that you will hear about soon. Keyes is one failed embarrassment after another. This will be no different

It's still America

Okay Kerwin, if a dad doesn't agree with his child's choice in life and says I'm not paying for college, that's a lack of "unconditional" love. You equate money with love and that's sad.

Dr. Keyes has run in and lost many campaigns, exactly how many times can someone run for office and then not be allowed to run again?

I supported Dr. Keyes in 2000 when he took 3rd place in the Republican Primary and garnered almost 1,000,000 votes. His popularity since then has dropped, but that doesn't mean he can't run for office. He still, by the way, says the same things he said back then which shows he's a man of conviction.

He might not have a chance, but some folks in PA want him on the ballot, but Kerwin thinks that's not right that Dr. Keyes be in the process. Kerwin's America limits the number of times you're allowed to fall down and get up. Not mine.

A man may not have a snow ball's chance in hell, but in this country we give them the chance whether we like them or not.

Look "KC", I never said he

Look "KC", I never said he should be prohibited from having his name on the ballot. What I was inferring was that if he had one lick of a bit of common sense he would use his energy where it will accomplish something - he is not going to do anything but further embarrass himself by running for office and fail miserably *yet again*. But comments like yours - just like Rush's - are pure spin and distortions while blaming others of just that same deed. You are a spinner of the highest form. And Keyes has a condition called "malignant narcissism".
And he did MUCH more then cut off funding to his daughter (making her homeless while barely out of her teens). It is not a simple straight line between cash and love - as you are inferring. He has demonstrated that he is a harsh and rude and arrogant man and worse; exhibits the same arrogance and harshness to his own child. A child who is calling out for love and affection from a (supposedly) supportive daddy. If you cannot recognize these traits in Keyes, then I pray for you to never have kids of your own.
Put Keyes on the ballot - put him on everywhere - that will eliminate his constant blaming of others for his failures and mismanagement.
And while we are at it, put him in the next Borat movie, he was priceless in the last one! He'll never get much respect from the righteous or the caring people out there. He has seen his support dwindle from them - and you have too.

Where to begin? When

Where to begin? When Katrinka didn’t agree with you she suddenly becomes one of Dr. Keyes sheep. When I don’t, I’m tantamount to a blow hard like Rush. See a pattern?

Malignant Narcissism? No wonder cancer is on the rise, I haven’t studied the connection between cancer and ego, but I believe your diagnosis may be off.

You are the type of person who believes in freedom as long as everyone agrees with you. You continue to prove it. Your prayer of me having not having children (just because I believe Alan Keyes is an honest man) is too late. The Lord has blessed me already. Yes, if one of my children were gay, I would still love them. I would not like it if they became an activist shoving their sex life in my face and demanding special treatment like hate crime legislation. What you do with your genitals is not a race or religion.

Dr. Keyes may not get my vote, but I know one thing, the guy’s position doesn’t change and that’s the thing with truth, it can attract and repel. You decide to be repelled.

OK, KC. We both agree that

OK, KC. We both agree that AK does not deserve either of our votes. Nor will my kids or grandkids be voting for him either. And it seems that hardly anyone else will either. Add him to the ballot - I encourage it.
And, sure, he doesn't change his agenda - he never has! He cannot adapt to a changing world and his views are judged objectionable to the vast majority of American voting adults. Hence his total failure in politics. The fact that he cannot see this is a negative - he will not accomplish anything (set policy or lead) in his career if he continues as he has. But - he will have a great time on his few follower's nickels! To most, that makes him a slime-ball. ask around

And you say I spin? Did you

And you say I spin? Did you even read my post? Good luck Kerwin, peace out!

heh-heh, it's the supporters

heh-heh, it's the supporters of Keyes who will need luck to break through their 0.3% barrier that they have seen so far this cycle.

07/29/08 3:38 pm

Hi there people - Keyes

Hi there people - Keyes supporters will have a little bit of surprise coming soon - inside info! They will be so disappointed; yet strangely optimistic. Zealots always are.
