Former Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will campaign for U.S. Rep. Phil English (R-Erie) later this month, The Erie Times-News reports.
The paper reports the event is likely Oct. 20, although it says details have not been finalized.
English is locked into a heated campaign against Democrat and small business owner Kathy Dahlkemper. A poll released last week showed her leading the race by 4 points, although English's campaign disputed those findings.
The race has pivoted on Dahlkemper's ability to paint English as a rubber stamp for the unpopular President George W. Bush versus English's attempts to portray Dahlkemper as liberal extremist out of touch with a more moderate 3rd Congressional District.
The opponents held their second debate Wednesday night in Meadville, where the Times-News reports each argued they could better bring change to the district.
Hardball host and possible Pa. U.S. Senate candidate Chris Matthews returns to the Ellen Show today. Will we see more of this? >
