Obama campaign responds with pro-coal TV ad
By Alex Roarty, PolitickerPA.com ReporterIn what is clearly a direct response to GOP criticism, the campaign for Barack Obama has begun airing a TV ad that touts the Democratic presidential nominee's commitment to clean coal.
Republicans in coal-heavy parts of the country, including western Pennsylvania, have seized on remarks Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden made in Ohio, when he told a supporter he and Obama opposed the construction of new coal plants.
The GOP released a radio ad in Pennsylvania and other coal-heavy states Monday that replayed those remarks while touting the importance of the industry to the region's economy.
The 30-second ad from the Obama campaign features a testimonial from a coal worker in Illinois, who touts Obama's past commitment to building coal plants.

It's funny. Whenever Obama is caught in a lie, liberals claim it was taken out of context, it's not the whole story, or some other nonsense. Frankly, I'm tired of Democrats thinking the average joe is a moron, but maybe we are. Just look at this latest economic mess.
You make deregulation sound like it's bad. Most people are grateful they can get a loan with little or no money down. That wasn't the problem. The problem was giving loans to people you shouldn't, like illegals. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know it's going to go bad, but Democrat institutions were more insterested in establishing a voter base than being ethical. I'm glad groups like Acorn got burned.
We shouldn't bail them out or you crooked politicians, but you have enough people convinced this is Bush's fault. It's all the Republicans. I'm sick and tired of it. Democrats are not good for the economy (they just have a knack for being in the right place at the right time), they don't care about the average joe (why do the rich always support the Democrat candidate if Republicans are for them, stupid?), and they are biggest liars in Washington.
Wake up, people. Before it's too late.

We can't trust Obama after he refers to us as clinging to our guns and religion. Now, he tries to make up an excuse for Biden who hates coal. And don't forget Biden wants to take our guns too. Look at his record on gun control. Don't try to buffalo us Joe.....And as far as religion. I don't think Obama should say much against Pennsylvanians when his mentors were Rev Wright and Father Flager who only preached hate! We just can't trust Obama & Biden...
